Royal Magical Library: Having two Igknight cards in your hand equates to at least one draw with Royal Magical Library,
as activating a Pendulum monster in the Pendulum Zone counts as a Spell activation. Builds that focus on RML use
cards like Terraforming, Chicken Race, and Ignition Phoenix and can easily draw 3 or more cards with RML's effect.
Summoner's Art and Reinforcement Of The Army: These two cards effectively allow you to search any Igknight monster
from your deck to your hand.
Rescue Rabbit: Facilitates quick Rank 4 plays or can be used with Ignition Phoenix to add an Igknight to your hand.
Summoner Monk: Only recommended for builds that focus on Royal Magical Library.
The Extra Deck
Igknights have the ability to Exceed into Ranks 3, 4, 5, and 6 in order to push towards a one turn kill. Some of the more
powerful Extra Deck monsters they can abuse include Utopia Beyond, Volcasaurus, Artifact Durendal, and Heroic
Champion - Rhongomiant.
Tips and Plays
Do not summon unnecessary monsters from the Extra Deck against Shaddolls to play around Shaddoll Fusion.
If in the situation where you could make another Igknight search but would instantly lose against cards like Mistake, Mistaken Arrest, or Mystical Space Typhoon, don't go for it unless you absolutely need to.
Try to end your plays with Squire, Crusader, or Magrave as your Pendulum Scales as they are the worst Igknights.
Your opponent's Solemn Warning is always a real threat when playing this deck, as it will send all of your Pendulum monsters to the Graveyard. Try to make it so if they Solemn Warning you, you still have enough monstesr for a follow up play.
Spell Cards:
Ignition Phoenix
(1) "Igknight" monsters on the field gain 300 ATK and DEF.
(2) Once per turn: You can target 1 "igknight" card you control; destroy it, and if you do, add 1 "Igknight" card from
your Deck to your hand.
Along with Templar, you'll find it easy to Exceed into Rank 4 monsters.
Being Level 5 is extremely useful for this deck as it allows Igknights to summon Volcasaurus to most likely inflict heavy
damage to your opponent. As such, Gaia Dragon, The Thunder Charger should be used to inflict even more damage
through the Battle Phase, as Volcasaurus cannot attack the turn his effect is used. Margrave also allows you to Exceed into
Artifact Durandal to ensure that your one turn kill goes through.
Igknight Templar
Level 4 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 1700
DEF: 1300
Scale 7/7
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones, and
if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Gallant allows you to Exceed into Constellar Ptolemy M7 to clear any threats your opponent may have, Utopia Beyond to
push for an OTK, or Photon Strike Bounzer to to make it so that they can't activate monster effects (if they have 1000 or
less Life Points). Gallant has the most ATK points out of any Igknight monster and therefore think twice before Exceeding
with him unless doing so is absolutely necessary or can produce more than 4200 damage.
Igknight Margrave
Level 5 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 1500
DEF: 2500
Scale 7/7
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones, and if
you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Beginner's Guide To Igknights
Igknights are a newly released archetype in Clash of Rebellions that focus on spamming the field with Pendulum monsters for a swift one turn kill. They are able to consistently and easily load up their Extra Deck with Pendulum monsters through the built in "Wavering Eyes" effect of each of the Igknight monsters that allows them to destroy themselves in the Pendulum Zone to add another Igknight Pendulum monster from the Deck to the hand.
There are 6 different Igknights that are used for competitive play, all of which do not have a monster effect and are strictly used for their "Wavering Eyes" effect. These monsters' levels range from 3-6, with each of their Pendulum Scales being either a 2 or 7. In every duel, your focus should be to place two Igknights into the Pendulum Zone, use their effect to destroy themselves and add another Igknight Pendulum monster to your hand. Repeat this as many times as you can, preferably ending with Squire, Crusader, or Margrave on your Pendulum Zones (as they are the worst Igknights).
While all the Igknights are the same in terms of their effects, let's take a quick look at them all.
The Igknights:
Igknight Gallant
Level 6 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 2100
DEF: 2200
Scale 2/2
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones, and
if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Igknight Crusader
Level 3 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 1600
DEF: 300
Scale 2/2
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones,
and if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Graveyard; Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower "Kozmo" monster from your Deck.
As a Level 3, Crusader doesn't have much utility in terms of Exceeding besides going into monsters like Leviair (if you
play Rescue Rabbit) or Ghostrick Alucard. It is generally recommended to end your destroying and searching with
Crusader taking up one of the Pendulum Zones in order to make your Pendulum Summon.
Igknight Squire
Level 3 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 0
DEF: 200
Scale 7/7
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones,
and if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Graveyard; Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower "Kozmo" monster from your Deck.
Rank 4 Exceed monsters are arguably the best of all Exceeds, and Templar along with Paladin allow you to access their
power. It's not uncommon to be able to summon Heroid Champion - Rhongomiant with 5 materials to essentially ensure
your victory. Templar having the second highest attack of Igknight monsters is somewhat relevant towards finding a one
turn kill.
Igknight Paladin
Level 4 FIRE Warrior Pendulum
Normal Monster
ATK: 1400
DEF: 1900
Scale 2/2
Pendulum Effect
(1) If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones, and
if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
Graveyard; Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower "Kozmo" monster from your Deck.
As with Crusader, It is generally recommended to end your destroying and searching with Squire taking up the other
Pendulum Zone spot in order to make your Pendulum Summon.
While the 300 ATK bonus can be nice, its second ability is where it shines when paired with Royal Magical Library.
With RML, a single Phoenix and any Igknight card will equate to one draw. However, in builds that do not use RML,
it's questionable whether or not this card deserves a spot in the Deck.
Other Cards To Consider:
Tyrant's Throes
Activate by Tributing 2 Normal Monsters you control (except Tokens). Neither player can Normal or Special Summon
Effect Monsters
Tyrant's Throes' effect has always been amazing, it's just no competitive Deck could consistently Tribute 2 Normal
monsters for its effect. That is until now. Tyrant's Throes will always be live in Igknights, and when it goes off, your
opponent will be unable to play Yugioh. Unless they draw a Mystical Space Typhoon, there's really not much your
opponent can do to you once you activate Tyrant's Throes. When backed up by a card like Vanity's Fiend or Spell
Canceller, there's really not much your opponent can do but surrender. I'd advise playing Gagagigo The Risen in
the Extra Deck if playing Tyrant's Throes..
Tyrant's Tirade is another card that has always had an amazing effect, but was difficult to activate until Igknights
came along. Note that Tirade does not stop continuous effects, meaning that your Spell Canceller, Vanity's Fiend,
Majesty's Fiend, and Heroic Champion - Rhongomiant still keeps their effects even while Tirade is up.
Majesty's and Vanity's Fiend: As Igknights aren't reliant on their Normal Summon, using your Normal Summon on
cards like Majesty's or Vanity's Fiend can be devastating for your opponent. Both cards work amazingly well against
the top decks of the format and can cause your opponent to surrender upon their summon.
Spell Canceller and Jinzo: Both cards can be Special Summoned through the Pendulum Mechanic and can be
crippling against the right decks. A Spell Canceller on your fiend can easily mean a win for you when playing against
decks like Qliphort or Nekroz.
Tyrant's Tirade
Tribute 2 Monsters. Effects of Effect Monsters that activate in the hand or on the field cannot be activated.
